(Cobourg, 26 October, 2009) People from across Northumberland County attended a standing-room-only meeting at the Go Green Together office in Cobourg last night to discuss forming a Northumberland-wide solar buying group. By the end of the evening a Steering Committee was created to take the idea further.

Media Release: Area church bells to ring 350 times to mark International Day of Climate Action

(Cobourg - October 20th, 2009) The bells will be ringing this Saturday as area churches mark the International Day of Climate Action by ringing their bells 350 times at the stroke of noon. 350 is the level, measured in parts per million, that leading scientists say is the upper limit for carbon dioxide in our atmosphere to avoid runaway climate change. St. Peter's Anglican and Trinity United churches in Cobourg, and St. Mark's Anglican and Trinity College in Port Hope will be among those participating locally in the worldwide event.

(Cobourg, 14 October, 2009) Go Green Together, an environmental group promoting renewable energy and energy conservation in Northumberland County, is calling a public meeting to begin organizing a new solar buying group.

This public meeting, called for Monday, October 26, 7:00 PM at the Go Green Together office (207A Division St.), is for anyone who may be interested in joining a solar buying group. By buying solar systems in bulk, savings can be achieved of up to 10%. The solar buying club also provides purchasers of these systems with information and support.

(Cobourg - 21 September, 2009) At 7am, area residents and visitors gathered at Cobourg Beach by Victoria Park in Cobourg for a fun, peaceful, Wake Up to Climate Change event. People held their phones in the air and came together to take a photograph before joining other groups around the globe in sending a flood of phone calls to world leaders urging climate action.

Go Green Together, local politicians launch International Clothesline Week at Victoria Hall

(Cobourg - 6 June, 2009) Several local politicians, including MPP Lou Rinaldi, MP Rick Norlock, Chief of Police Paul Sweet, and members of Coubourg Council, celebrated the launch of International Clothesline Week at Victoria Hall on Saturday. International Clothseline Week takes place each year during the first week of June to encourage people to think about and act on energy conservation and the health of our environment.
